How We Provide Services

We provide services / supports that are delivered in flexible ways. We establish individual support arrangements with our participants and their support network. We don’t have an office, and provide supports within a participant’s home environment, in the community and in other support / service locations. Having this flexibility allows us to observe and better understand someone’s unique needs within that environment and what strategies, accommodations and support can occur in that setting.

Our Individualised Approach

We recognise that everyone’s strengths and needs vary, in addition to how they perceive and interact with the world. We aim to understand and adopt individualised support approaches that:

- Respects individuals support needs, experience and diversity,
- Focuses on their strengths
- Supports self-advocacy and empowerment
- Improves quality of life
- Builds skills
- Reduces behaviours of concern

Positive Behaviour Support

We have a small team of behaviour support practitioners who use a holistic framework for understanding each participant and their behaviour. We provide person-centred strategies through behaviour support; this includes collaboratively gathering information and conducting assessments that informs the behaviour support plan. We then provide training / education to the participant and their support network.

We recommend and support the implementation of both reactive strategies (for reducing the risks of harm) and proactive approaches (to support positive change and growth). As behaviour is a way of communicating dysregulation and/or one’s experience of difficulty, proactively reducing stressors, meeting needs and skill development are essential for reducing behaviours of concern and improving overall quality of life.

Improved Daily Living

We are committed to building capacity through improved daily living, this includes providing therapy, education, training and providing recommendations. We do this creatively with you and tailor it to you / your support network. Our skills and training are in psychology, social work, counselling, community development, trauma informed practice and neuroaffirming support.

Psychosocial Recovery Coaching

Co-occurring disability and mental health concerns are such a common, yet complex interaction and is such a unique experience for each individual. Having person-centred supports to understand a participant’s unique strengths, interests, and support needs plays a critical role in their everyday life. We provide psychosocial recovery coaching with the aims of supporting improvements in both mental health and overall quality of life. We work from a person-centred (trauma-informed and neuroaffirming) and holistic approach, supporting each participant in building meaningful connections (with formal and informal supports) and progressing towards their goals.
