How We Provide Services

We provide services / supports that are delivered in flexible ways. We establish individual support arrangements with our participants and their support network. We don’t have an office, and provide supports within a participant’s home environment, in the community and in other support / service locations. Having this flexibility allows us to observe and better understand someone’s unique needs within that environment and what strategies, accommodations and support can occur in that setting.

Our Individualised Approach

We recognise that everyone’s strengths and needs vary, in addition to how they perceive and interact with the world. We aim to understand and adopt individualised support approaches that:

- Respects individuals support needs, experience and diversity,
- Focuses on their strengths
- Supports self-advocacy and empowerment
- Improves quality of life
- Builds skills
- Reduces behaviours of concern

Positive Behaviour Support

Our small team of Behaviour Support Practitioners works within a holistic framework to understand each participant, their unique circumstances, and the factors influencing their behaviour. Through collaborative information gathering and assessments, we develop person-centred strategies that inform Behaviour Support Plans. We then provide guidance, training, and education to participants and their support networks to help implement these strategies effectively.

Our practitioners recommend both proactive and reactive approaches; proactive strategies that build skills and independence, alongside reactive strategies designed to reduce the risk of harm and support safety during times of distress.
We recognise that behaviour is often a form of communication and may reflect unmet needs, stress, or experiences of difficulty. By reducing stressors, supporting individual needs, and developing new skills and coping strategies, we aim to reduce behaviours of concern and enhance each participant’s overall quality of life.

Improved Daily Living

We are committed to building capacity and supporting improved daily living through therapy, education, training, and personalised recommendations. Our support is delivered creatively and collaboratively, with approaches tailored to each participant and their support network.

Our team brings a diverse range of skills and experience across psychology, social work, nursing, counselling, community development, trauma-informed practice, and neuroaffirming support, allowing us to provide well-rounded and meaningful support.

Psychosocial Recovery Coaching

Co-occurring disability and mental health concerns are such a common, yet complex interaction and is such a unique experience for each individual. Having person-centred supports to understand a participant’s unique strengths, interests, and support needs plays a critical role in their everyday life.

We provide psychosocial recovery coaching with the aims of supporting improvements in both mental health and overall quality of life. Our staff work from a person-centred (trauma-informed and neuroaffirming) and holistic approach, supporting each participant in building meaningful connections (with formal and informal supports) and progressing towards their goals.
